The boys were candidates to go to the Douglas Industrial Home , but as I have a list of inmates they are not there. Hundreds of children as young as 5 were sent to Canada , never to see their family again , brothers and sisters were even separated when they went to Canada.
Can't find the boys dying on the IOM.
Mabel Weston Wilson is maybe a clue - why Weston ?
Had a look at Brian Lawsons census indexes and found a Thomas Weston in 1901 aged 44 , he was the only Weston on the Island.......Thomas ?
Looked on the IGI and found him 1881 census aged 23 with widowed mother Hannah and 5 younger siblings. The address is Talbot Hotel, 18 Athol St, Conchan.
No IOM birth for him , found him as Thomas Antrobus Weston Ch 13/9/1858 Liverpool to John and Ann.
Found a marriage 1886 to Emily Maddrell , but no sign of any children and I cannot find what happened to Emily.
1891 census has him aged 33 in Douglas with sister Mary 31 , no Emily Weston.
To spoil my theory there is the 16/7/1898 death of Charles Walter Leslie Weston in Peel IOM father Thomas Antrobus Weston and M.G. Weston , cannot find a birth on the IOM for Charles.
Thomas Weston was buried 31/5/1908 Braddan aged 50.
