the only John Duff burial around this period is 1928 but aged 80 - he was I think a car proprietor (ie one of the tourist horse drawn wagons - photos on my site of these - in 1881 he was a married 29 yr old car proprietor at 12 Post Office lane (heart of old Douglas) but by 1894 had moved to 72 South Quay - however I think he had cheated on age and was the 12yrs old errand boy in 1861 with Henry Moffat car proprietor - married Mary Ann Boyne in 1869 gave father's name as Robert

He is I think illegitimate in various censuses found with two Moffat families but I can't find a bapt
