Thanks Sue for further explaining your previous post. I have read every word & printed a copy although you will think I might have paid more attention to detail. I obviously have not
understood what rural constable meant. I am surprised that in remote country areas that there were police officers. I presume it meant you earned a small additional wage to get by.
Also there would be considerable status. This I think explains why Edward would state occupation "Policeman" even years later. I must look up rural constables at that date starting
with what Frances might have gathered into Manx Notebook.
