Frank, I came across a reference to (your?) Millar family in a clipping from the 'St Andrews Citizen' March 20 1998, Fife, Scotland, which might be a clue for you. It was sent to me by a Fife historian and was about the Heritage Centre at St Andrews. Part of this reads "James Millar, boat builder, also had a business at Woodburn but this closed in the early 1900s due to the collapse of the fishing industry. His two sons emigrated to Port Chalmers, New Zealand where their families still have a boat builders business".
