There's quite a few city councils here that put details of burials on line including all the names of people who have been interred in a particular grave. This weekend I'll do some research on passenger lists / ship arrivals from the UK and other sites that may assist. I checked for John James Cain on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission site www.cwgc.org and his details are shown It stands to reason if he joined an Auckland Regiment he and other family resided there or in close proximity, so their port of arrival may have been Auckland Although Wellington is the Capital City Auckland is much bigger in size and population. There are numerous cemeteries so I’ll begin a brief search when I get time.
