the angle bracket (less than symbol) is also the start of html entities (eg the bold, italicise etc which the MB is careful to stop except for a few special cases as otherwise javascript could be injected into a message.
However back to the wills - i and e are often difficult to tell apart especially after been thro a poor (and in some case very badly scratched) microfilm as some scribes didn't always dot the 'i's or cross the 't's when it was 'obvious' (to them) from context.
I think the 175-1800 Lonan wills are 95% summarised - I have photos of most of the missing ones sitting in the 'todo' pile - 1700-1750 probably 80% or so again most of gaps are in 'todo' pile but been working on other parishes in last couple of weeks 9+ other committments)
