Thanks for the info. from Robert's death cert. There is no problem establishing his bapt., which was in Maughold Parish Church on 11 June 1820, son of Peter Corkill & Elinor Clague. The difficulty was Elinor Clague - no Maughold marriage to Peter, and no other children, but I think I might have worked it out.
Robert Corkil & Jane Callow married in Maughold 23 Nov 1776. Robert a widower. They had two children Ellinor bapt Parish Church 24 Jun 1777, and James bapt Parish Church 28 Feb 1779. James CORKILL infant buried Aug 2 1779. Which left only the one child surviving.
Her father Robt CORKIL was buried Jul 25 1780. His will 10 June 1780 to his daur Ellinor sole exec., and £7 10s being money owing to him from his brother John Corkill. To his wife Jane Corkill money owing from William Christian. If daur dies before age 14 goods to descend to his brother John C. Jane C. the mother and James C. the uncle sworn guardians and supervisors to underage child.
On 21 Nov. 1801 Peter Corkill husband of Elinor Corkill the execr of Robert Corkill of Maughold acknowledges to have received from William Clague husband of Jane Corkill the mother and guardian of the said Elinor Corkill the whole of the goods -- by the death of her father.
William Clague & [Robert's widow] Jane Corkill had married 16 Apr 1785.
Peter Corkill & [Robert's daughter] Elinor Corkill married Maughold 6 Jan 1798
Their children were:

Could the "Clague" have been a surname error made by the vicar on this one bapt because Elinor's stepfather was William Clague?
