Hi Eric
I haven't being ignoring you, I'm just a little overwhelmed with the material. I started out simply to find the parents of my gr gr Grandfather Daniel Kermode (bpt 1792) and now am totally engrossed in not only going back but sideways with the tree and throwing in transcribing wills in my "spare" time. At Sue's suggestion I obtained the main Lonan LDS film 106728 and noted every Kermode reference I could and developed a spreadsheet starting with a marriage and adding baptisms within about 25-30 years. I found it quite amazing how this framework is supported by the other documents e.g. wills, land titles etc I have been gathering. What you have provided further supports my efforts and adds a few more data points. I'm now working on the sequel: LDS 106184
My hope is to obtain copies of all the Kermode wills for Lonan, and add a few others along the way. In this regard, looking at your notes I have draft transcriptions of the 1826 will for Daniel Kermode (burial 28 1825 Lonan) and the 1810 will for Catharine (Clague) Kermode 1810, which I hope to submit shortly. Briefly, the Catharine Kermode will (probate 22 May 1810) is brief, given that she died intestate. The courts named her five children: Daniel, Catharine, Elinor, Mary and Isabella co-administrators, however all except Isabella either did not show up at Court or declined, so Isabella was given the administration.
Daniel Kermode will (published 9 Dec 1825); left to his four daughters: Margaret, Katrine, Anne and Jane five shillings each and to Isabella five shillings and a heiffer. He left to his three sons: William, Daniel and John five shillings each and appointed his wife Margaret Kermode als Quark sole Exectrix and all the rest.
I also am in the process of transcribing wills for William Kermode (son of Daniel and Margaret (Killip) 1910 and his daughter Sophia Terzah Kermode 1916. All to be submitted shortly.
You mentioned a marriage contract for William Kermod died 1722 to Catharine Quay (1707); is this available? I don't see it on "freevar"
I'll try to see if I can add anything to the other issues you and Lois raised but don't have a lot of info outside of the mainstream Kermode tree. Although I found it interesting that the Thomas Skillicron/Margaret Clark marriage was on the same 1718 parish record page as that for James Kermott/Joney Clague, so you never know.
Lois. I do not see transcribed wills for Thomas Skillicorn listed for 1873 and 1892. If you are interested I have draft transcriptions and again hope to submit them shortly.
Thanks for the added info Eric and Lois.
