Hi Jean,

you're right, the Kelly story is convoluted. I'll just realign my connection for you.

As you say, Margaret Kelly (b.1835), d/o Robert Kelly (b.1792) & Mary Kermode, married Robert Clague (1827) in 1856. They had one child, Ann Jane Clague, who only lived for 6 months in 1858. Margaret died in 1859.

Robert Clague then married Mary Ann Kneal (b.1824 Lonan) who was the widow of Margaret Kelly's brother Robert Kelly (b.1820).

Mary Ann (Kneale) & Robert Kelly had had 2 children, John Robert Kelly (1846-1854) and Mary Ann Kelly b. 1845. This Mary Ann married Robert Kinnish, a flour dealer, and had one son William Thomas Kinnish (1868-1869) and then died in 1870.

My gg grandmother was actually Mary Ann Kneal whose 2nd husband was Robert Clague (1827). They married in 1863 and had a daughter (my great grandmother) Margaret Clague (1864) and a son Robert John Clague. Margaret Clague later married Thomas Collister from the large Malew/Santon family of Collisters.
