Dear Sue and Jean.
Thank you both for your very quick responses, and as Sue pointed out I would like to acknowledge The source of the will and thank Lois Ralph for transcribing it.
Thank you Jean as well for emailing me the outline of the tree, and the lovely headstone pictures.
Sue, No Isabella didnt emigrate to Australia. My husband's father did.
Please bear with me on this, as I am determined to prove, that my husband's great grandfather is related to this family of Kelly's and Kermodes.
What I have is ( from the Will)
Isabella Kermode m. James Kelly 1779.
Their son John Kelly Had an Isabella who m. Thomas Quayle.
Their son Robert also had an Isabella. she married William Taggart shoe maker.
In the will, William Taggart's Eldest Dau. was Elizabeth Taggart, and the youngest dau. was Isabella.
This Isabella married John Teare in Manchester 1851.His father was Thomas b. IOM .
Their son William b. 1861 Manchester is my husband's great g/father. He married according to my FIL ( now deceased) an Elizabeth Ann Schofield Taylor. aka Lillian. also b. Manchester 1867.
I have found every record possible ( census and have purchased certs where necessary), but cannot for the life of me find this marriage to proove that my William is the son of John Teare and Isabella Taggart. This is my dilemma. I'm sure I am right, but I am pedantic in making sure, since there are so many trees out there that just guess and assume.
The reason for this is that my son is the last ( at this point) to carry on the name. apparently there was a curse put on the family and so far this curse is holding true. But thats another story.
Hoping you can help, and thanks again for both of your inputs. It is much appreciated.
Going to spend the next hr or so inputting al the info you have given me, and see what fits where LOL!
Regards,
Jackie
