there is no problem about people passing on items of info including MI's - the point I & Sue commented on was a willingness to copy pages from an IoMFHSoc pub (which you can buy - no problem - even join the IoMFHSoc as well if you wish, their journal is often very useful) whilst BK's own website has the following notice - "you are hereby notified that any use, dissemination, distribution, or reproduction of this material, or other printed material handed to you personally by hand or posted to you personally by myself , is prohibited to be handed to third parties…. All material here - in stated is copyright to..."
As I said most genealogy research is good natured and people happily share data and help each other as witness 99.9% of the activity on this board.
There is one point that I would make (and I suspect Brian's notice is an attempt to cover it) is that having put some effort into producing and publishing information it is pleasant to see some acknowledgement rather than seeing it copied and passed off as someone else's work (as has happened to my own site a number of times - sometimes quite wholesale copying).
