My comments are independent of their response - I suggested in my original post that offerring to supply just those entries of a given name is probably acceptable but given your own web-site wording I did think it rather strange of you, thus my initial comment.

Copyright is in my opinion a minefield, tho usually in genealogy common sense rules but there are examples of overzealous application - I can think of one Antipodean researcher who claimed excessive copyright on factual material and worried many people unnecessarily (tho sometimes I suspect some of the material being fictional may well strictly have been her own copyright)
