Re: SAYLE Bride

Is it your family in the 1851 Bride census with John Sayle aged 55 stone mason, wife Ann aged 44, and children Charles 13, Catherine 11, James 9, Thos 7, and Daniel 3, all born Bride? No place name other than Crosby House at the top of the column?

If so did you find them in Bride in the other censuses, and did the parents' rough birth dates change? There seem to be only a couple of possible John Sayle bapts in Bride (on IGI), which is a big improvement on Andreas.

Possible burials from Brian's index:
SAYLE, John 68 Bri 2 Oct 1863
SAYLE, John 72 Bri 4 Jul 1867
SAYLE, John 75 Bri 12 Oct 1870

The parish register would give identifying details for the bapts of the younger children (you said they had more?), which should help sort out which was your John's burial, and hopefully which was the correct bapt for him. The registers on LDS film are early 1900s official copies and are very easy to read - certainly worth a look.

Have you tried M.I.s?
