Re: A question about the Sayle family from Peel

I suppose I could go to the LDS and get the microfilm for the old parish records of Bride. I once ordered the Parish Records for the village in Scotland where my 3rd great grandfather was born... and my eyes are still watering.

John Sturrock and I once emailed thinking we had the same John Sayle from Bride and I was encouraged because the family names were the same... but the dates weren't. I kept his Family Tree just in case I bump into someone with a John Sayle from Bride. The 1841 census records had 43 people with the name John Sayle in the IOM... I intimidate easily.

My family seems to do the "begatting" slowly although my great grandfather was born about 1796, he didn't marry until 1834. Then he and his wife, Ann Cowle, had nine children.

Oh... I had a great uncle named Philip. So Philip is a family name... So maybe there's a relationship from way back.

The "neatest thing" about my family tree is that my paternal grandmother was Elizabeth McFee, and all the McFees on the Isle are related. The "McFee progenitor" didn't move to the Isle of Man until 1810 or so, so he was the first McFee there. My goodness it makes researching the McFee ties so easy!
