Thank you for your continued interest in my search; this has been going on for at least twelve years off and on. You are making me think in other directions which are a good thing.
The words “Brother, James Lynchey, 1835” may well be a remark but I wonder where it may have come from.
The Convict Hulk Registers show that Thomas was moved from Castle Rushen to the Hulk Ganymede being received on board 13/05/1834 and moved to the Lady Kennaway on 10/06/1834. He was on his way to Tasmania when with 19 others he was taken of at Cork and was the only one to survive.
After recovery he was returned to the Hulk Justitia in England and then on 27/06/1835 to the transport Mary Anne.
However the reference to “Brother James 1835” arose I think that it must have been an event prior to him leaving Castle Rushen in May 1834 as it would be difficult for him to be aware of events after he was transferred to the Lady Kennaway.
This is the basis I have used in suggesting James was the unnamed son who accompanied Sarah to Australia.
