Re: Lynchey family
In Response To: Re: Lynchey family ()

If the big clues aren't there you have to look at the little clues. I can’t give you a complete list of clues as it would be too time consuming but here is a selection:

- The 1826 baptism of Sarah shows that there was a family with parents called Michael Lynchy & Sarah Mullen
- Michael & William Clenchey died of Cholera in Castletown in 1832
- Australian record saying Thomas had a brother James
- Charles Lynchey’s 1860 marriage as Charles Linsey shows his father was Michael, a labourer
- Charles Lynchey was godfather to Andrew & Jane’s son Charles in 1844
- John Lynchey’s daughter Susan(nah) was Charles’ niece on the 1851 Census
- In 1861 both Charles (Castletown) and Andrew (Douglas) are marine store dealers
- In 1841 John is a pedlar & in 1851 a hawker so he was also a seller of goods
- In 1841 John is in Cattle Market Street Douglas, in 1851 Andrew is living there
- In 1841 when Andrew married as a minor his guardian was not a parent
- Charles had a son called Andrew
- Andrew had two sons born called Charles
