Today I will order Ford County marriage record- indexing doesn't seem to be accurate as you have noted.

The only correction I would make is the 1861 census- John's age. It appears to me as 41. He has never appeared in records any older than birthdate 1820- only younger in 1880 US census. I have his death announcement. He died at our family farm in Galva, November 1894. There doesn't appear to have been any obituary just an announcement of his death and burial- at least in the Galva paper.

Also ordering naturalization records.

Yesterday, In my grandfathers papers I also found genealogy information for "John James's" siblings, but not the siblings that we know. I am perplexed at this tree and why my grandfather prepared it when none of the names are familiar to me. Luckily it covers the recent generations (at least in the US to the 1980s so with some luck I'll be able to figure out the link to these Corkill's.
