The first time that I can definitely find the family is the 1851 census in Maughold.

John was 31 and Margaret 30 at that time. Both are said to have been born in Maughold. They were married 5 Apr 1846 in Maughold as well. First child came in 1848 so I am comfortable with the marriage date.

In 1861 census, the family is living in Bride, probably moving before 1856 since youngest child was born there. All information regarding age and birthplaces are the same. They also now have a border, Jane Kerruish or perhaps Kennish. She is 71 and from Maughold as well.

Margaret died in 1865 and remainder of family came to US very shortly thereafter. On US census I have been unable to find a match for John although he is reported to have remarried and be living near his eldest daughter. The only person I can find that potentially matches is a John Corkill born around 1825 reported parents are as noted above- Robert and Esther.

This is a big brick wall for my family- would love any information you can share- even if just to eliminate the various families.
