I had considered that the first name was correct and not the last but perhaps it is reversed.

I did find an Esther Corcle (age 40) and a John Corcle (age 20) on the 1841 census living together in Port St. Mary. But I do believe that John was born in Maughold. He married there in 1846 to Margaret KERMODE. They can be found on the 1851 and 1861 census with their children.

I am also searching information for Margaret Kermode as there was nothing in my grandfather's record on her either.

My best bet might be to try and trace all of the Corkill and Kermode family groups to see if I can sort it out. Perhaps John was living near Margaret in 1841...
