Thanks Sue. Interesting that my John isn't listed in the baptisms but arrived in America with the father John and siblings. There is also another Corkill that seems to have been with John when he first appears on the US census in Galva, Illinois. A William just 2 years older though. They lived with the Lewin family (Robert and Isabella Kissack) and my John would eventually marry their daughter Isabella.

Yes. I do believe that is Margaret's burial record. The family came to the US by 1870. I was speculating that Margaret had been ill for some time, perhaps why her mother was living with them in 1861.
