Hi Melissa,
I think that this bapt has a good chance of being Margaret's one:
Margaret, Illegitimate daur of Robert Kermode & Jane Kerruish bapt Maughold 10 Dec 1820.
The IGI usually or always lists illeg children under the mother's surname, even when both parents are given at her bapt., as in this case.
And you probably know that in the IOM illeg children were usually known by the father's surname even when the parents didn't eventually marry each other.
Interesting that Jane Kerruish was living with them in the 1861 census, which seems to confirm this. Being 71 in 1861 this could be her bapt: Jane daur of John Kerruish & Jane Tear bapt Maughold 4 Oct 1789. Next closest is Jane daur of Thomas Kerruish & Margaret Davies bapt Maughold 20 Apr 1791.
It is possible that John Corkill was born in Ramsey, Maughold, so is in Ramsey records as Frances suggested.
These children are in Maughold bapts:
Elinor Jane [daur of] John Corkill/ Margaret Kermode [bapt] Parish Church [Maughold] 4 Oct 1846
Margaret John Corkill/ Margaret Kermode Parish Church 1 Oct 1848
William Henry John Corkill/ Margaret Kermode Parish Church 23 Apr 1854
Mary Ann John Corkill/ Margaret Kermode Parish Church 6 Jul 1856
Joseph John Corkill/ Margaret Kermode Parish Church 24 Jan 1858
Was this Margaret's burial?
Margaret CORKILL aged 43, Water St, Ramsey, buried Maughold Apr 1 1865.
