Re: Snaefell mine disaster
In Response To: Re: Snaefell mine disaster ()

Of the three daughters of John James & Mona, the birth of only one was registered on the Island 1897 KELLY; ALICE MARTHA LAWSON LONAN B 192. The other two are likely to have been registered in the USA. On Ancestry.com a "Craine Family Tree" owned by dick1834 has Annie b1892 in Butte, Silver Bow, Montana and Ella L (presumably Helena Lawson b1894 at the same place as Annie. As John says that the family returned to the IOM c1896 and following the death of their father, John James, it may be that Mona decided to have all three christened on the same day.
It has been great to see the researchers bringing the family info together, even though it goes to confirm it wasn't my John James Kelly that died as a result of the disaster. Thanks to Averil & John it may be possible for Barbara to complete a little more of her family tree and be more certain of what she already had.
