Mona Lawson 1861-1940 was the daughter of my gt gt grandfather's brother James [see IoMFHS Journal, Vol XXVII No 2 May 2006, p41] She married John James Kelly 1888-06-21 Kirk Lonan. They went to Montana USA via Ellis Island 1888-07-30, had several children out there and returned to Laxey ca 1896 [hence multiple baptisms of children]. John James may well have assisted in the Mine rescue [I'd missed that]; I assumed he had contracted "Miner's Lung" in the USA and returned home. In HIS WILL of 1897 - posted on BL site- he left " “£10 to my mother Jane Kelly”
John James' parents were James Kelly b.1838 Mau and Jane Cowin b.1844 Andreas.
They both lived at their respective family homes until after the census of 1861, and probably
married before 1865, but no record of the marriage has yet emerged.
