Re: Snaefell mine disaster
In Response To: Re: Snaefell mine disaster ()

Hi David.
My grandmother Annie (Kelly) Clucas, her sister Catherine Kelly and her brother William Kelly all came over from the Isle of Man and settled in the US. My grandmother's sister Minnie Comaish lived in Laxey until she passed away. Both of her children died very young. I am sure that there must be Kelly descendants from my Kelly line still on the Isle of Man but with Kelly being such a prominent name on the island it may be quite an undertaking to find them. I am going to join the Family History Society and post an inquiry.
I will be getting into my records this afternoon or evening and I will post more information about these Kelly's who settled in the US. My grandparents settled in Butte Montana My grandfather was a miner. He had been a teamster on the Isle of Man. I am not sure what mine that he worked for there. Catherine and William both settled in Bisbee AZ. I believe because of the mining industry as well. I have a bit of Kelly information on a world tree in Ancestry. Not sure how much on the Kelly line but you might want to look at what I have there.
I will write more later.
Thanks,
Barb
