Hi - Yes, I agree. There are many omissions and errors in the burials (except Maughold! - thanks to Tom Corteen.). Replacing or correcting Brian's index with the new burials composite index would be a good idea. But Brian's burials index, which was compiled from the FHS transcript, is completely different to his index to birth registrations (and marriage registrations) which he compiled himself from the register entries on film.
To see proof of the error of using indexes to "correct" entries from the register John only needs to look at the entry on page one which he has changed from Brian's ABRAHAM to ABRAM because (he says) that is how it is written in the index. This is irrational. Brian's work should only be changed from the register, not from a possibly incorrect index. The "new" IGI, compiled from the new filming of registers in the MM, also has ABRAHAM.
Regarding the wills index, there is obviously a lot of work which has been done locally which was not available to Brian on the films he was using. It would be very helpful if Ian could add this work to the index.
