I am the great Granddaughter of Thomas Dick Corkill b. June 4, 1839 in IOM, d. June 20, 1915 Sedgwick, Harvey County, Kansas. He married Marcha Ann Haskin b. Sept 24, 1848, d. 1936.
His father was Thomas D. Corkill b between 1812 and 1814 , d. August 6, 1875. He married Margaret Kelly b before 1820 and d. before 1848. (both were born on Isle of Mann)
Is there a possible connection here?
Also have talk of a brother to Thomas Dick named Bill, but no solid info on that. Had a brother Edward that was adopted out at birth.
Would love to share any info you might have connecting us.

I have that William and Mary's children were born in Illinois but they came to Nebraska, around the Morrill Mitchell area could be a possibility if yours went to Illinois first?
My e-mail is csinger@vcn.com I don't have anything past William but am working on that of course. Jessie and her husband Charles lived in Illinois for a time. at least 2 of their children were born there.

This message is for Susan McGuin. I'm responding to a post you made nearly 10 years ago. We have a relative in common, both of being great, great grandchildren of Thomas D. Corkill, born in Isle of Mann 1813 - he died in McHenry County, IL in 1875. His son, and your great grandfather Thomas D. Corkill (junior?) was the brother of my great grandmather Maria (ponounced Mah-rye-ah). She married my great grandfather Simon D. Brott in 1877. Their son Earnest Brott, born 1892 is my Grandfather, and his daughter Mary Ellen is my mother. If anyone would like to contact me on family research please reply back here (a guest registration is free at ancestry.com). I would really like to hear from anyone that's part of my family! George Brott Goltz - also at georgegoltz at hotmail dot com.
