Christine, Thomas Cannell Joughin was baptised at Bride in March 1856, son of Robert Joughin and Ann Joughin, from two different, unrelated lines of Joughins (Crosby, Bride and Andreas main line respectively). The Thomas James Joughin from Patrick came from a third unrelated line (Rhenab, Maughold). Thomas and Ann took their children to New Zealand and settled in Auckland. They lived for many years at the Stone House, Mount Eden Road. Thomas Cannell Joughin was a bachelor. Don’t let me deter you from the research on him that you had planned. I would be interested to hear.
In your earlier posting you said that you had further information if anyone was interested. That would be on Kayes, I presume, but if you have anything on their Joughin neighbours I would be interested.
Ron, you said that on the 1871 census the Joughin family were nearby. That implies wife and children, people that I have not yet come across. Could you set out the Joughin family in the 1871 census, please?
Thanks to you both.
