A few coincidences that amy be worth following up.
There is a John Edwin Corkill christened on Nov 13 1851 in Ramsey. Mother is Jane Corkill - no father is given.
On May 1 1857 at St Nicholas Liverpool, a Jane Corkill married a Thomas Lewis.
John Wade, the butcher married Elizabeth Lace in Maughold on May 17 1825.
In the 1871 census in Liverpool, a Wade, a Lace and a Lewis, all born on the IOM are under one roof:
Catherine Lewis head mar 39 b IOM
Margaret Lewis dau 2 b Liverpool
James Lace nephew 21 ships plater? b IOM
John Wade nephew 19 ships carpenter b IOM
I cannot identify Catherine or even find her unmarried name. Nor can I find Jane Corkill (or Lewis) in any census. But it seems possible that John Wade and John Corkill are one and the same.
It may be worth trying to locate the birth certificate of Margaret Lewis in 1848 or 1849. This would give the mother's maiden name.
