Since you were so gracious as to accept the suggested paternity of your ancescestor Henry was John Taubman + Margt Moore (as opposed to the Thomas Taubman + Mary Moore (who was dead some 20 years previous to birth of Henry)) - following some enquiry I noticed that you had amended your tree to reflect this but had made John husband of Margaret son of Thomas + mary Moore - I'm afraid this appears to make John a bigamist as well as to contradict wills and MI's - I've posted a suggested tree at www. manxnotebook.com/famhist/families/awm1889/goldie.htm with I think supporting evidence but I'm always interested in opinions of others.
The query might now be moot as it appears your line does not go through the norris/radcliffe connection but whereas I accept (on the basis of Seacombe's House of Stanley) that a dau of Earl Thomas did indeed marry Robert Radclyffe I suspect that some confusion has crept in that the Radcliffe's of Gordon + later Knockaloe were not of that illustrious clan and the 2nd earl of Sussex did not die at Knockaloe as at that period according to land records it was held by the Crosse family (and judging by watch and ward records still held by them until 1627 at least) - the Radcliffes it is thought married into the families holding Gordon + Knockaloe mid 17th Century - see www.manxnotebook.com/famhist/families/awm1889/rdclif_g.htm - but though I have done quite a lot of work on German + Peel records I havn't yet started on Patrick even though I can see Knockaloe from my window. Thus I'd be happy to receive any evidence for that statement.
