My aunt has never heard of the Cowells in Bigwell street, the fact that Lewis is shown as a haidresser in the census amused her.
In the 1871 census Wm was at 2 Fells court, Douglas his occupation was that of a warehouseman, in 1881 he was at Drumgold st and was a grocers porter, as was my grandfather, a 10 year old boarder, I have no further record of Wm, Louis Henry Cowell is in the 1891 census living in Bolton, a boarder, working as a general labourer.
There is also the Kewley connection, in 2000 I corresponded with David Kewley, he told me there was a big scandal regarding LCH birth, I gathered somehow that the Kewleys were involved, Davids writing is nearly indecipherable, his letters contain quite a bit of information, I went to the IOM to see him in 2002 but he was to ill to see me.
