Another angle to my grandfather Louis Cowell was that he and his wife were the first people to be married in the newly built and consecrated Christ Church at Heaton, Bolton, the new vicar was called Lamothe, prior to this he was the Curate of Andreas. Frances makes note of this in her Manx Families. I have the bible signed by the vicar given to them to commemorate the event. I understand that there was a lot of couples who wanted to be the first married at the church, It would seem that Lamothe and my grandfather must have known each other on the island
