I have a very remote connection to the HOWLAND family of Lowdas/Loudas (Leodest) through my Andreas JOUGHIN family.
[Generation 4] William JOUGHIN b.1710 married Jony DOUGHERDY 1736 Andreas.
William Joughin, Leodest, bapt.11 May 1710, buried Andreas 28 Nov 1771, married Jony DOUGHERDY 19 Feb.1736 Andreas.
Northside Sales, Andreas: [Marriage] Contract October 1738 no.21 between Wm Dougherty (Joney's brother) & Margaret Joughin (William's sister).
Children of [4] William Joughin, Leodest [1710-1771] & Jony DOUGHERDY, Andreas.
1. Margaret bapt.10 March 1737 daughter of William Joughan & Joney Dougherdy, married Ewan HOWLAND of KK Bride 1771 Andreas.

Braddan MI, Section 1, Block 5, no.3097: “Sacred to the memory of MARY ANN daughter of WILLIAM HOWLAND of Lowdas in the Parish of Andreas who died Sept 20th 1860 aged 34 years / also in affectionate remembrance of MARGARET the beloved wife of JAMES BELL of the Commercial Hotel North Quay, Douglas who died March 23rd 1873 aged 51 years”.
