Still looking at the family of Thomas Teare and Elizabeth Christian------ here’s one of their children who almost certainly emigrated to the US----Elizabeth Teare who was the 7 year old in the 1861 household.

Notes:
Thomas was a farmer at this time. In the 1910 census, he gave his trade as carpenter. I imagine that lots of immigrants to the US took the opportunity to buy land and fulfill a dream of farming their own land, even though they had trades already, which they could fall back on if times got tough.
