Dear Mrs. Callister,
I have been following this thread from Lisa, and thought it has brought up much discussion, Now my I have found where the CALLISTERS, were in the CAINE. CORLETT line, I have been researching again, in many areas of our line, which lands were sold from the CAINE'S TO THE CALLISTERS, as far back as the 1700's, and how odd you stated you are 99% MANX with dark hair and skin, you and your husband and then your son came out different with hair, blonde, and then reddish, well I was born blonde, and green eyes, then later it turned a dirty blood, then when I married moved to HAWAII it changed to mousy brown, but our daughter was born a copper penny red head and of course my husband thought she belonged to the milkman, for his SICILIAN coloring of dark skin, dark brown eyes and and dark brown hair did not come out, then I had to explain about our family off the Isle AND MY GRANDMOTHER WAS REDHAIRED AND HER FATHER, AND HIS FATHER. AND NOW OUR 10 MONTH OLD GRANDSON HAS RED HAIR AND BLUE EYES, AND MY DAUGHTER-IN;-LAW IS LEBANESE-ITALIAN, SO she was upset, did not want a GINGER sone, for some reasone red haired boys are not wanted in any family, but I love RED HAIR on a man, as one stated HARRY, PRINCE WILLIAM'S brother is quite handsome, , ..... but so many do not want a red haired son, I actually told my daughter-in-law she could have a third generation gene throw back and have a red haired son and she now states I MARKED HER SON, WHICH IN THE OLD DAY WHEN I GREW UP IT ALWAYS STATED BY THE OLDER WOMEN YOU COULD MARK A CHILD IN THE WOMB, which my daughter was a third generation throw back, for the doctor finally convinced my husband this is your child, and DNA WAS NOT EVEN HEARD OF WHEN I HAD MY CHILDREN TO FIND OUT WHO THE FATHER WAS. as time went by, she TURNED MORE AUBURN, AND NOW AT 38 YEARS OLD,she has darken some, but has already started graying, as my sone has started graying at 36 his, beard is red and gray, and browish red. he gets that off the CAIN/E LINE. MY HUSBAND IS 64 AND HAS A FULL HEAD OF HAIR, WE CALL HIM RINGO STARR, and he has very little gray hair, the SICLIANS on his side gray very late, if at all. They maintain their coloring of skin and hair longer it seems. I always thought when I married I would have brown curly haired, dark skin, brown eyed Sicilian children, even had SICLIAN NAMES PICKED out, but when our first was born with red hair and green eyes and our second blonde and blue eyed, I had to change at least my daughter;s name and then left our sone with one Sicilian name and one OLD family name. So it can happen to anyone, and believe me, I finally dyed my hair at at age 24 to red, I got so tired of people asking in our military travels of 20 years where did your daughter get the red hair from, of course it did not last long, the gray came through, but then I dyed it a suttle brown, and now I have given up, actually it is not gray, it is really winter white snow, a beautiful white, so white it blinds you. So you must know any gene can pop up at any time in our off spring,
I would like to know if you have done your tree, and if you have CAINE/CORLETT IN YOUR LINE, if you wish, you may e-mail me at; joeds9@barnwellsc.com and I would love to show you what I have on the CALLISTERS in our line. I have been doing much research, for much time on my hands, we are retired now. So I have much to share.
Kindly yours,
Mrs. Rosa
