Dear Lisa,
I would love to know what a true CORLETT looks like, ANNE CORLETT married ADAM CAINE, I have written to several whom think they are in my line, and I have truly do not feel like it is proper to aske someone what they look like since they have never met me, that would be quite rude. I would love to hear from any CORLETT'S how they look, a true CORLETT, FROM BALLACORLETT, BALLAUGH PARISH. I would love to know if they are short or tall, dark or fair, what colour eyes they have, the texture of their hair, and colour of their hair. HOW STRANGE and HUMAN it is for us to want to know, yet how PRACTICAL AND HUMAN to feel if we knew we could CONNECT with them, by bone and flesh. I think genealogy is born in the genes of a person, for I have been a genealogy hound since I was 16, wondering who and where I came from, and stories passed down from my grandmother and the OLD DINOSAURS who would come, in black dresses and black stockings and shoes, and we would listen to stories of our past to be passed down which I have done so, to my grands, only one seems to want to be a hound, I know it is in my blood to know and dig with a deep winnowing fork, I know I have worked hard, I know that I should like to see a CORLETT AND QUIGGIN, AND WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE????? I WONDER ALSO, tis human nature, and the very essence of knowing were they beautiful, or ugly, as stated I have seen the CAINE'S AND LIVED WITH THEM, but the CORLETT'S AND QUIGGIN, KELLY'S, I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. I do hope my health improves and I can fly. I want to touch and hug those who are my people look in their eyes and see bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. Tis very exciting to be a genealogy hound, the hunt is exhilarating with each brick wall that is broken down. I know for me that it had been a life long journey and still much is still undone.
Kindly yours,
Mrs. Rosa
