I'm thrilled to read from the responses, that my question apparently not silly! I should have added that I'm the oldest of 3, and the shortest at 5 foot, 9.5 inches. All of my siblings taller than our Mum who I believe was about 5'8", before age shrinkage. Dad taller, over 6 foot 2" as is my son, who deffinately carries the Stephenson genes well.
