When at school on the island, in the 60's I remember my friend being so embarrassed by the history teacher standing her in front of the class, and stating that she was a good example of the Manx race.
She was small, petite, dark skinned and had very dark brown hair, blue eyes...a typical Celt.
I am of 99% Manx breeding, and so is my husband. We are both dark.
However our son was born with reddish down on his head, then went white blond as a youngster.
Today, when he has stubble, it's red.
