I hadn't thought that the sale may not have been completed.
There is another deed Patrick 19 April 1869 no 539 which tells me that Ann Shimmin [Callister] [widow of Richard who died 1857 of the Claddagh] had died March 1869. The property called Croit ny Harrey was then put up for public auction by the Coroner of Glenfaba possibly because of a mortgage involving Rev Archibald Holmes who had also died.
The property was purchased by Thomas Halsall for £300.
So I'm happy I know where Croit ny Harra was [I think] but it still doesn't take me any further back with the Shimmins.
