I have heard of a link between the Cannells of Ballawillyn Beg and the Bridsons, but I never found any details.

THe late Mrs Alison Mona Cowley (nee Bridson) was known to me and claimed some kinship with me and them.

My link with the group Wayne has identified was through Thomas Clague Cannell, elder half-brother of Edward Quine Cannell.

T.C. Cannell married my great-great aunt Esther Hannah Quine of Ballachrink.

They moved up to Jurby, leaving several sons. T.Q. was a member of the House of Keys, and Robert was Vicar of Maughold.

THere was a strange position when E.Q. Cannell died because T.C. was only a half brother, my relatives were debarred from inheriting the little farm at Baldwin.

Esther and Thomas's grand-daughter lives in New Zealand.
