I posted my last two messages before I saw your ones. You asked "Does the birth cert. lead me to believe his full name is John William Davidson Dumbell".
- No, that birth cert was for his son. As was the last one I posted, for their eldest son John Thomas Dumbell. Both show up in NZ records with their families.

It is this cert which you need to get from England:
