Could you give me the details of the 1861 census you found them in, please, and also the name of the other child who arrived in NZ with them in 1872?
I can't find them in either 1861 or 1871 censuses.

I have their NZ burials and John's will ref. if that is of interest? And also much more info about William Davidson Dumbell and family in NZ.

- But the information on their marriage cert is crucial, if you don't have this? It should give John's father's name and occupation - and this occupation could prove or disprove my theory about John Dumbell of the Mersey Mills Warrington being his father.
