Hi Sue, thank you so much for the timelines. I have managed to find William Starkey in NZ using the NZ Electoral Rolls 1853-1981. He first appears in 1896 in Rangiora as a farm labourer. Again in 1900, and again in 1905 and this time with his wife Edith. Yes! I have managed to cross ref and tracked them right up to William's death in 1935. I still haven't been able to find him for the years 1892/93/94/95 but thats okay. I now have a very short period to work with in regards to passenger lists. He may well have been in the UK somewhere during those 4 years prior to going to NZ.

Again, thank you so much for helping me fill in the gaps. Now, the next challenge is to move backwards in time and flesh out the family ties in Isle of Man. thank you to David for helping with William's brother James Joseph. this seems to fit quite well.
