Re: richard radcliffe

Hi Jane,

Carol suggested daughters Margaret and Ann as being the possible mother of John James.

Ann(e) b.c.1837 (aged 4 in 1841, 14 in 1851, 24 in 1871). Did you find her in censuses or elsewhere (married?) after that?
Assume she was Ann Christian Radcliffe bapt 8 Jan.1837 Saint Peter, Liverpool.
Sister Margaret bapt 18 Oct.1838 Saint Peter, Liverpool. Not with family in 1851.

You wrote that Margaret Radcliffe died in 1841 aged 3. I must have misread the 1841 census where I thought she was aged 5, but when exactly was her death that year, and who was the informant? Addresses?

You wrote that Ann Radcliffe died 1877 aged 78 and R Radcliffe was the informant - was this Ann Christian, because you also wrote that you "have no info on Ann Christian or Richard apart from the census information you have already seen".
If father Richard Radcliffe died in 1864 aged 55 he can't have been the R Radcliffe informant on her death cert - must have been their son the night watchman. What was his address in 1877? And hers?
Need addresses and relationship of informants from the certs!

Sue
