Thanks, that is very welcome, as it provides confrimation of several points I had more or less deduced.
Richard's time as Comptroller confirms my own figure of 1652 to 1673, but you put a query by 1673, and I do as well, for Thomas Norris did not become Comptroller until 1676. What happened in the interval, and as Richard did not die until 1675, and was shown in the parish register as "Comptroller Tyldesley" was 1673 the correct date, or did he remain in office until his death ?
William T has a will for 1722, so there are two sources for a 1722 death, so that tends to disprove the 1726 date sometimes referred to.
The 1722 will is weird when you read it.
