Re: A Clucas Family
In Response To: Re: A Clucas Family ()

Thanks for your research Len about Hendry or Henry Lace from Ramsey and a happy new year to you. Where did you find a record of Hendry Lace b 1848 in liverpool? I looked in the IGI but could not find an entry. It seems like you have the right family though which is marvellous although I am now wondering if it was Hendry or Henry Lace. There was a Hendry family in Ramsey at the time and it seemed common that surnames were used as christian names too. I know that the Hendry Lace that married Catherine Clucas drowned but I would like to find out if he was a mariner or just perished on a Manx ferry or some other unsuspecting vessel. Are there passenger lists or registers of people lost at sea from this time 1870-1900? I also wonder if there was a family connection maybe with John Lace of Trafalgar fame. Any Lace/Clucas/Castle/Wade info welcome
