Brian,
1) thank you very much for that info, I appreciate it. Our Kermode family knowledge passed down from the 19th C said that Thomas was indeed an ironmonger and that he supplied the Manx herring fleet with iron nails & all sorts of other iron made stuff, but that he went out of business when they went from wooden boats to metal. An early example of redundancy arising from technological change.
2) Frances C. also responded to my post- she suggested I "look at the admin of Ann Kermode (nee Kewin) in 1833 on Brian's site". Would you be the Brian she mentions? And how can I access your site, please advise.
3) do you have a particular interest in the Kermode genealogy, I ask hopefully, maybe even in Thomas K's actual line???
4) Is Kirk Michael St in Peel, or where?
much abliged for your interest!
regards from Adrian Kermode
