Re: William Henry Forshaw and K.W.C.

Frances,
1. A further quote from Mr. Teare's letter:
"Your father, Mr. W.H.Forshaw, he states, was the son of Henry Forshaw, an engineer, he understood, who came to Ramsey in connection with the installation of the first public weighing machine in Ramsey Quay. At that time the Bridge Inn was carried on by Mrs. Sutherland who must have been Manx as her maiden name was Joughin and she had one daughter who Henry Forshaw married. The Bridge Inn in the days of the shipyard was a very busy and prosperous centre. Then Mrs Sutherland & her daughter and son-in-law(your grandmother)afterwards moved to the Stanley Hotel & presumably your farther was born there. Later, Mrs. Sutherland bought the Victoria Hotel, altered and improved it, building stables etc. & on the death of his parents your father came into the entire properties."

2. Mr. John and Mr. R. Forshaw are not known to be related to W.H.F. at all.

3. What can I say? That we should all be so lucky!

Regards, Peter.
