I could upset some people here with this article but I have to get it over to the board. Ever since these interesting topics have come on line here at "Manx Genealogy " I have been enthralled by the items and many others of the same talk about . But back in 1995 on starting out on my Kneen Tree and everything Manx , I thought I had a wonderfull story about Manx Maritime History, so I sent it off to the Isle of Man F.H. Society hoping for an input into the journal. But please note that I have nothing against it, I think it is informative and interesting. I did receive a reply to say the story would be published ,but alas it never happened to this day.
This is my personal opinon and I might upset some members but I think the I.o.Man F.H.S. is singular in their response to "Strays" i.e Manx people like my self who have left the Isle to better themselves. I will give you a typical example William Kneen the 1800's artist who you can see on my web-site www.kneen.com under famous Kneen's. His story is amazing and something to follow.
