I recognise your line of descent from James 1717, it is the more interesting. Following the interpretation of the name is difficult.
Your James is listed as Farghuer in 1881 but Farragher, farquer etc. is not uncommon for others.

It is the same line as the Ohio Faraghers of recent enquiries.

I counted about 11 children of James and Isabella , not all surviving, but under what names is another matter.

James's brother Charles was the grandfather of Douglas Fargher the author of your typescript, they drifted south to Port St. Mary following the fishing. Some family photographs are on display in the manx museum.

I derive from the other line, my father was raised near the Lhen bridge but ended up in Douglas.
