Re: Parish record - writing help

Malea,

I have a very similar problem. Thomas Kaighin married Catherine Gawne in 1819 in Ramsey. They had several children thereafter. In the 1841 census, Catherine is with several of the children, but Thomas is not with her. In 1851 she is shown as a widow. I have searched everywhere for a burial/death record with no luck. So in your searches, if you find a Thomas Kaighin buried between 1827 (birth of last child) and 1851, please let me know. I've been searching for him for 12 years now.

Recommend you have a look at the following on familysearch.org:

o Ramsey Burials 1836-1849 (MS09946/1/2)
o Lezayre Baptisms, marriages, burials 1696-1849 (L22542/1/1)
o Lezayre Burials 1849-1882 (L22542/4/1)

Also Monumental Inscriptions, Ramsey, Isle of Man 1750-1900 by Henry Boddington on LDS film 477386

And as Sue mentioned, film 106741 - Ramsey parish register transcripts. Agree with Sue, you'll have to spend a lot of time going back and forth on that film trying to find dates.

Thanks,

Greg
